CS2 features dozens of agent skins, which vary significantly in appearance. While they formally only make cosmetic changes and do not affect gameplay, some players still notice a difference. For instance, some skins help a player blend into the map environment, while others, conversely, make them more noticeable. In CS2, this effect has been reduced, and currently, the choice of agent practically does not give a competitive advantage. Thus, the main criteria for selection are appearance and personal preferences.
CS2 Agents by Rarity
All agents are divided into 4 groups by rarity, which also affects their price. They can belong to the following categories:
- Master, for example, Special Agent AVA | FBI
- Superior, for example, Chem-Haz Capitaine | Gendarmerie Nationale
- Exceptional, for example, Getaway Sally | The Professionals
- Distinguished, for example, Ground Rebel | Elite Crew.
Master agents are usually the most expensive – their cost can reach several tens of dollars. Their design is the best crafted and includes many fine details. On the other hand, distinguished agents, except for rare exceptions, can be bought for a few dollars. While in most cases less rare agents are cheaper, certain models that are especially popular among players can be an exception. For example, "Getaway Sally" costs more than $80, despite only being "Exceptional" in rarity. It's worth noting that, unlike weapons, agents do not have quality or float ratings. All copies of one type look the same, so the price does not fluctuate as much.
CS2 Agent Factions
Another classification that can help navigate the variety of agents in CS2 is the faction system. The following groups are available for playing as terrorists:
Professionals.
Guerrilla Warfare.
Cavalry.
Elite Crew.
Phoenix.
As for the special forces, the following groups are available:
"Navy Seals".
SAS.
SWAT.
TACP.
National Gendarmerie.
FBI.
Brazilian 1st Battalion.
KSK.
Each team has its own style, and in the descriptions of agents, you can see their affiliation to one of the groups, and sometimes their role in it. For example, Michael Syfers – FBI Sniper or Dragomir – Sabre Footsoldier. Each group has a style that is reflected not only in the names of agents but also in the small details of clothing. The main way to get agent skins in CS2 is during operations. When such an event occurs in the game, they are available in the operation store for a limited time.
