Skins for character models are, in fact, the only function that all CS2 agents serve. There are currently 63 agents in Counter-Strike. You can obtain them in two ways: by completing missions during operations that Valve usually launches once a year or by purchasing (or exchanging) them on specialized platforms like LIS-SKINS.
Players first encountered agents with the launch of the “Shattered Web” operation, which began on November 19, 2019. As a reward, users could receive one of 22 agents.
Later, new CT and T agents were added to the game during two more operations:
- “Broken Fang”, which lasted from December 4, 2020, to May 4, 2021.
- “Riptide”, which ran from September 22, 2021, to February 21, 2022.
Top Agents (Part 1)
When selecting the best character skins, we consider community recognition, which is often reflected in market prices. The more expensive the agent, the more popular they are among players.
Currently, the most expensive and sought-after CS2 agent is Sir Darryl “The Miami Darryl” — a tough guy in a Hawaiian shirt reminiscent of Tommy Vercetti from Vice City, complete with a hockey mask.

Second on the list is the charismatic Latina from the SEAL Team — Davida Fernandez "The 'Goggles'". She's well known for a voice line in which she cheekily says she doesn't want to die a virgin like her teammates.

In third place is the red-headed, calculating thief Runaway Sally. With her hair tucked under a beanie, eyes hidden by dark glasses, and hands in leather gloves, she could easily be mistaken for a teenage boy.

Top Agents (Part 2)
Next up is Number K — a silent and secretive gangster who refused to fill out his registration form and only wrote the letter “K”. He wears a semi-transparent nylon stocking over his face and casually smokes, creating an unsettling grin. He famously hates timer bombs and would rather see them explode instantly.

Fifth on the list is SEAL Team agent Frank “Wet Sox” Baroud. Easily recognizable by his wetsuit with the number 194, Baroud is meticulous, serious, and known for his strict character.

Affordable but Beautiful Agents (Part 1)
The agents listed above are far from cheap, with prices ranging from $25-55 on average. However, for those who want an attractive character without breaking the bank, here are some budget-friendly options.
First is Ava from the FBI faction. While not the cheapest, she’s definitely one of the most stylish agents, costing around $13-15 (as of April 2023).

Next is Burglar Voltzmann — a charismatic T agent with short purple hair and shaved sides. Her fierce aura is unmistakable, even through her dark glasses.

Affordable but Beautiful Agents (Part 2)
With the upcoming CS2 update, prices for agents are rising. One such example is Osiris, a T agent who used to cost $0.5 but now sells for $2-3.
He stands out with a bright red shirt, rolled sleeves, and a yellow keffiyeh printed with a tiger’s grin — definitely deserving of a top-three spot among affordable agents.

Fourth is Michael Cyphers — a reliable FBI agent and former athlete whose career was cut short by injury. Focused and determined, Cyphers costs around $2-3.

Hitboxes of CS2 Agents
Hitboxes are invisible zones on a model that determine whether a shot connects. Each body part — head, arms, legs — has its own hitbox with varying damage multipliers.
Though Valve claimed that all agents have identical hitboxes, community research showed slight differences in head and neck areas. The volume difference between the smallest and largest models was measured at 96 points — a 16.75% difference.
More About Hitboxes
Some agents do have slightly smaller hitboxes, giving them a tactical advantage. Among T-side agents, the “Professionals” group (Number K, Voltzmann, Sally) has the smallest head hitboxes. For CT, the FBI agents (Ava, Cyphers) are best.
SAS agents and the “Elite Crew” (like Osiris) have the largest hitboxes, making them easier to hit.
So, if you’re aiming to go pro, the best CS2 agents for you aren’t the prettiest or most expensive — they’re the ones with the smallest hitboxes.
Interesting Facts About Agents
1. Valve gave each agent unique hands and voice lines starting from the Shattered Web operation in 2019. They’ve updated sleeve models over time, especially when issues like texture blending occurred.
2. There are Russian-speaking agents in CS2 from the “Cavalry” faction (T side). The most well-known is Doctor Romanov, who speaks English with a strong Russian accent and occasionally throws in phrases like “Goodbye,” “Yes,” or “Thank you” in Russian.
