CS2 is rich with a variety of knives of all price ranges and color combinations, but Karambit and Butterfly Knife are undisputedly two of the most luscious and desirable knives, bar none. The Marble Fade Karambit stands out with its unique sparkling red, blue and gold gradient on the legendary curved blade. This knife is nothing short of eye-candy, great for both trading and playing if your pockets are deep enough to buy one. Plus, it’s important to know which Marble Fade to get, because there’s a huge difference with each knife depending on their pattern seed number. The pattern index determines the amount of each color or the alignment of said colors. In this guide, we break down everything you need to know about the Karambit Marble Fade knife, including the rarest patterns and unique Fire & Ice patterns.
What Makes Karambit Marble Fade So Unique
The Karambit Marble Fade was added to CS:GO on January 8th, 2015, as part of the Full Spectrum update and can be unboxed from the Chroma cases. The knife shape is inspired by the legendary Southeast Asian knife that is used as both a deadly weapon and an agricultural tool. Both the Karambit and the Talon Knife feature the signature “tiger claw” blade with its iconic finger ring hole, complemented by a rich array of unique inspect and pull-out animations.
What separates this knife from the regular Fade version is that the Marble Fade features a different color scheme consisting of red, blue and gold. Also, the Marble Fade finish features smoke-like textures over the gradient. Overall, it is fair to consider the Marble Fade Karambit more intricate and hypnotic. These gorgeous knives start at around $1,100 and climb considerably higher when they feature a rare pattern seed. Let’s take a closer look at some of these patterns.
The Karambit Marble Fade Patterns Tier List
Every Karambit | Marble Fade has a pattern index ranging from 0 to 999 that dictates how much red, blue or yellow colors are present on a blade. While the blade’s colors can be distributed in countless variations, the most valuable combination features pure red and blue with little to no yellow visible on the playside. These patterns are commonly known as the “Fire & Ice”. Skin collectors and traders rate the Fire & Ice patterns by rank, where 1st Max is the absolute best two-tone pattern with the most amount of red and corresponding highest price tag.
Sitting below the 10th Max Fire & Ice are the closest "fake" patterns that feature small yellow patches on the playside of the blade or on the finger ring. Fake and Max Fake patterns have a visible yellow part, hence the Fake moniker. If you’re strictly into the aesthetics of the Fire & Ice patterns, then it shouldn’t really bother you if your priority is to enjoy your knife while playing rather than flipping it for profit.
