Fade – This is a type of skin that is used for many types of weapons and knives. What do the percentages mean?

For example, if the coloring “karambit” is described as 70/29/1, which means that 70% of its surface is colored pink, 29% purple and 1% yellow. It is also useful to know that although the pattern index can vary from 1 to 1000, this does not mean that each number will have a unique coloring. Due to the fact that the number of texture placement options is limited, they will be repeated. Consequently, the chance of getting a rare skin increases slightly, since you do not need any specific pattern index, but one of a couple of dozen possible ones.
What does the cost of a skin depend on?
Thus, the two main parameters that affect the cost of skins with fade in CS:GO – these are float and pattern index. For knives, the float indicator is especially important despite the fact that the range of its values is small (from 0 to 0.08). Thus, Fade knives are only found in Minimal Wear condition. and “Factory New”, but the uniform coloring of the skin makes even small scratches clearly visible. Because of this, it is important to inspect the skin carefully before purchasing. For example, the Karambit Fade, even with a low float, can show noticeable abrasions in the areas where the blade connects to the handle, and this will reduce its price. But it also happens that with a higher degree of wear, the scratches are located more successfully and are not conspicuous.

- Check not only the float value of the skin, but also how the scratches are located on a particular instance.
- Check the value of the pattern index.
- Make sure that it is included in the list of pattern indexes with the coloring you need for this skin. Otherwise, there is a risk of buying a skin with 99% Fade – at first glance, similar to rare, but without 100% coverage.
